Free and Open Indo-Pacific

Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP; Japanese: 自由で開かれたインド太平洋戦略, romanized: jiyū de hirakareta Indotaiheiyō senryaku) is an umbrella term that encompasses Indo-Pacific-specific strategies of countries with similar interests in the region.

It's worth remembering that in these enormous amounts—three trillion dollars—there's an eye for the livelihoods and well-being of millions of people all over the world.

When trade cannot cross the high seas, it means farmers cannot ship their products; factories cannot deliver their microchips; and hospitals do not get medicines that can save human lives.

The more nations we can unite for the common good, the stronger we will all be.

We will adopt a strategy to unite more closely all the instruments of our national power—diplomacy, military, and intelligence—with our allies and partners.

We don't want a conflict in the Indo-Pacific.

As you do, remember that there are many people in this Indo-Pacific region whose hopes and destiny are closely tied to you and who will be your faithful partners in making our Indo-Pacific area open and free.
