Denmark, Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States, Join Forces to Strengthen Ukraine's Air Defense Capabilities

Denmark, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States have united to strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities.

In a joint statement issued by their respective Ministries of Defense, the countries have stated their commitment to immediately supply high priority air defense equipment to Ukraine which is currently being invaded by Russian forces.

The statement highlighted that the allies took this step to deter Russian missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian cities.

Hundreds of necessary short and medium range air defense missiles and related systems will be supplied to protect Ukraine's critical national infrastructure.

This initiative also aims to ensure the success of Ukraine's counter-offensive operations in the coming months.
The statement further revealed that deliveries of the equipment have started and are expected to be completed in the next few weeks.

The four-country collaborative effort was announced shortly before the US-led Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) meeting on June 15, 2023 in Brussels, Belgium.

The UDCG is made up of representatives of around 50 countries and serves as a platform for coordinating military support to Ukraine.

“This initiative will deliver hundreds of short and medium range air defense missiles and related systems necessary to protect Ukraine's critical national infrastructure and further ensure the success of counter-offensive operations in the coming months,” the statement read as reported by UKDJ.

The partnership between Denmark, Netherlands, United Kingdom and United States is a significant international response to support Ukraine amid the ongoing war.
